Wine tasting for the impatient

Want to sample wines from an area without stalking every single winery in the region?

Here in San Luis Obispo that concept is being tested in this downtown tasting room. About 75 wines from 18 wineries are available for tasting, just purchase a debit card and start selecting an ounce at a time. Each bottle is pressurized with nitrogen.

“Yeah, and it preserves the wine for up to a month but we don’t have it that long, just a couple of days,” explains Holly Burke, wine tasting hostess.

Red’s are on these carousels, whites are chilled in these racks. You insert your debit card, which deducts the price of the sample and raise your glass. Each taste comes with a history of the wine and directions to the winery.

The machine is imported from Italy and currently there are only two in operation in Northern California. More on what San Luis Obispo has to offer.
